About
The following description is to specify the scope of the Graduiertenkolleg (GRK) 2638. Generally, GRKs are established to promote researchers early in their academic careers by providing a context tailored to their scientific qualifications. GRKs are usually funded by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft DFG) for a maximum period of 9 years. A translation of this term into English is Research Training Group. For reasons of coherence, we stick to the German acronym.
The first cohort of docs runs at the GRK from October 2021 to September 2024, and the second cohort will begin their work in October 2024 for an expected term of 36 months. In March, we will launch an info session (English & German) and call for applications. Selection will unfold in a three-step process through July. Anyone interested in applying can add their name to this May list:

We will circulate the Call for Applications in 2024 in late February.
In the following, we spell out how we aim to contribute to the purpose of promoting young researchers.
